Holy Howth

Today is Wednesday June 13, so that means a few things...
  1. It's Carter's birthday!!! Happy birthday broski! FuShu like a Duggan.
  2. No Class!!! Adventure time!!
It was a beautiful day and Sof, Kaitlyn and I had no intention of wasting it inside! We had heard good things about Howth and the fact that it was only a 20 minute train ride costing 5 euro round trip was our selling point! Our train didn't leave until the afternoon so Jorie got to come with us when she was finished with class. So having really no idea what we were doing, or what to expect... we were off!

Howth is a small fishing village located on a peninsula just North of Dublin Bay. The minute I stepped off the train it was one of the most beautiful places I'd ever seen. The pier is lined with seafood resturaunts, the harbor is packed with sailboats, and just past the lighthouse you can see the island of Ireland's eye. All of these were the sights I saw in the first five minutes.

After exploring around the town we decided to head to the cliff path, The Fingal way.... Even the walk to get there was gorgeous.

See what I mean?

I think the girls with me have started to figure out how much of a big kid I am.... I climbed everything

Luckily for me, Fingal Way catered to my spider monkey climbing... I had a field day.

After making the cliffs my own personal jungle gym the girls and I walked around for a while just enjoying the view.....

And we may have also given ABC the idea for their next Bachelorette proposal spot...

You don't have to thank us Chris Harrison. It was the least we could do for missing the show while in Ireland.

And what day would be complete without a guy in lederhosen?

Hello icing on the cake that was today.
Of course it didn't hit us until we were at the furthest point from the pier how starved we were. Needless to say our trek down the cliffs was much less leasurely than the hike up. We stopped at Beshoff Bros' for some fish and chips and ice cream and called it a day.

It was the best day I've had here so far! I couldn't have asked for better weather, a more beautiful view, or a more fun group of girls! Tomorrow it's back to the classwork grind, but I think after what I saw today I can hold out for next week's adventure!

Until tomorrow....

Cheers,
   Becca :)
