First stop... Dublin Castle. I'm going to use the name Castle loosely. In all honestly it was probably our own fault. So far we've been to the Black Castle ruins, Inverlochy Castle, Edinburgh Castle... and I think maybe even a few more. I guess you could say we started at the top so our expectations were high. Dublin Castle really didn't stand a chance... Not that it wasn't cool, or that we didn't have fun.... just not what we had envisioned...
Paddy, Me, Jor, Joe and Sof in Gardens |
Even though the boys were missing Babez (Andrew) they still took time to play a little line tag in the gardens... |
Pretty, but not very Castley... (is that even a word?... you get what I mean) |
We still had fun! |
The whole time we were there we kept wondering where the Castle we were expecting was... we never found it. We did however find some of Joe's friends...that go to IU... that are studying abroad in London... but just so happened to be at Dublin Castle when we were... small world much?
They didn't plan it at all. I still can't get over the chances of that happening. |
After that massive strikeout we decided to make the rest of the day really count to make up for it. The list for the day:
- Christ Church Cathedral
- Dublina
- St. Patrick's Cathedral
I think my faith in the day was restored when one of the stands at the market of Christ Church looked like this...
Dublin loves candy, and for that, I thank them. |
The inside and outside of Christ Church are incredible...
I know I'm no photographer but I was pretty proud of myself for this one...
Next it was Dublina, the Viking & Medieval Dublin Museum. I don't care how old you are... this place is fun. It was like the children's museum... plus the plauge? We just played the whole time.
Jorie and I even ended the museum with a Purdue vs. IU fight in the gift shop...
Obviously I won... |
After all that we were starved so we went to Crack Bird. One of the IES staff members Caroline recommended it to us because it's owned by the same people who run JoBurger. All of us girls really liked our food.... The boys decided it would be a good idea to drench their chicken in habanero sauce without trying it first... They both were sweating and couldn't finish eating. Joe started to shake and Paddy got a stomach ache... that'll teach em.
On our hour and a half walk home I saw this guy... I don't know if it was the heat (which doesn't come around here too often) or that fact I'd walked all day... but I laughed for a good 10 minutes. He thought we was a ninja swinging his walking stick around while admirably trying to keep his pants up with his sweatshirt all while yelling... whatever Irish Ninjas yell.
After resting our feet for a while we headed back to the Grafton area to check out the Harry Lemon...
Tomorrow will be a day of writing papers... Boo
and the Hurling Championship Finals!!! Yay! So that's something to look forward to!
Until Tomorrow,
Cheers,
Becca :)
