Purdue Does Ireland

Today after class I headed to Queen of Tarts to meet with some Purdue advisors who were visiting Ireland! There were a few reasons I was really excited... First and foremost, I have been the lonely Boiler in Ireland this whole time! There are 16 kids from IU in my program so you can imagine I have felt a tad outnumbered. Yes, they were advisors and not students visiting, but still, yay!! The second reason I was so excited is I had heard many good things about Queen of Tarts... and they are all true. It's a restaurant/pastry shop... and where I think I acquired type 2 diabetes...

What made the day even better was the time I spent wandering around Dame Street and Grafton before and after Queen of Tarts. I found the nicest little stores, and it was a beautiful day so there were tons of street performers out.... I'm not sure why but every time I find one that reminds me of my dad I also toss in some loose change... today it was a man on a 12 string playing Blackbird. It made me happy, but a little homesick at the same time... and then I remembered the folks will be here in about a week!!!

Tomorrow I'm off to Paris! Joe and Babez are headed to London so were going to share a cab to the airport... at 3:45 am.... Yay for 6:30 am flights.... I should probably start packing but this is the only preparing I've done for the trip thus far...
Holly is such a good roommate. She teaches me French, and doesn't judge me for the fact all I want to know are food words... One of the many reasons I love her.

Until Tomorrow,

Cheers,
   Becca :)
